Hey you,
How are things? I hope you’re well and thriving? I’m writing to you on a day that my spirit is pretty low and since communicating with you is a mood booster, here I am. This letter is not going to follow the usual format for obvious reasons, I just want to share stuff.
Since my birthday, October 15, there has been an influx of subscribers, this is a nod to you, new reader, welcome and I hope that through this newsletter, you’re able to embrace your imperfections, love yourself, find strength in your vulnerability, and live your best authentic life.
With inflation giving us a run for our lives and our mental health holding on by a single thread, how are you sparking joy these days? Seriously, if you’ve found a cheat code, spill the tea because a lot of us are out here like, “is it joy or is it caffeine/sugar/alcohol?”
Remember I told you I was watching Netflix’s Culinary Class Wars, well I have finished watching it and I highly recommend, it’s my favourite reality TV show for 2024. If you’re a fan of cooking shows, you’re in for a treat! Nenye of
introduced me to the show Love Is Blind and I’m horrified by what is going on in these dating streets. First of all, I’m too skeptical to believe that any of the contestants are serious people. What do they mean by saying they are in love after 4 days of being voice note pen pals?(that’s technically what they are doing in those pods) Unfortunately, I’m a masochist and instead of DNFing, I will continue with this trainwreck till the very end. What are you watching these days?
Someone who used to read my first blog reached out to me with the kindest words about something I did that stayed with them and it’s got me all up in my feelings.
This is a friendly reminder though, that now more than ever is the time to pursue that thing you want to do, a hobby, habit, job. I believe it’s better to try and fail than to live in regret of not attempting what you wanted.
For instance, I’m so happy with the rise of bookish content creators on the different social media platforms. It gives me much joy to see people talking about books so passionately, I wish for more kindness though because it seems being contrarian or mean-spirited is the order of the day but, baby steps I guess. Do check out this account, Bookstagram Nigeria on Instagram, they amplify Nigerian books, readers, and authors.
I haven’t shared any song recommendation in a while so please listen to this , it’s my current earworm and I love how fun it is.
A Friendly Reminder…
Please remember to hydrate, eat well, sleep well, and poop well. Most importantly, don’t forget to give yourself the grace you always extend to others. You need it too, okay?
If you love my content, you can show support by giving me a shout-out on social media or in real life (prayers are fine too).
See you on the other side, Dearest.
XOXO
