Hey you,
How are things? It’s been a minute. I have actually missed writing to you because it looks like you have become one of my multiple streams of joy, but it’s been so hard to get into the right headspace.
At one point, I berated myself for being lazy, it’s not good to scold ourselves but sometimes we need it. In this situation though, I didn’t because regular work was going just fine, it’s my creative outlets that were constipated.
A “creative block”, that’s what the intellectuals call it. There’s even a hashtag for it, you can check. So, I read an article on overcoming it and another article on weird AF ways to work through it, and realized something. I’ve spread myself too thin. Like. who the fuck do I even think I am to dabble in so many things and still expect to function at high capacity? I’m not Mary Poppins!
Can you relate to this though? Sometimes, we need to quit everything and do ONE thing instead. Yes, this is tough advice. But sometimes we’re blocked and drained and feeling uncreative because we’re doing too many things! Sometimes we don’t know the next step because we have too many projects with too many next steps. Or sometimes we don’t feel motivated because we’re so crowded with ideas.
So, moving forward, can we try that? Like the gif says, let’s take it easy with the multiple tasks at once thing. In a nutshell, what I’m saying is whenever you see anything from me online; a podcast, tweet, IG post, newsletter, let’s just thank the Heavens for life and hola at each other, okay? On that note, there’s a new episode of The Litty Podcast where Karachi and I went on a book rec fiesta, you should definitely listen to that when you can.
Time to wrap this up and I’m already getting new ideas on how to format this letter again, lol. Maybe when next you read from me, it would be a whole new space. We’re giving ourselves space (and grace, very important) to grow and evolve, alright?
