Hey you,
How are things? I really hope you’re doing okay and if you’re not feeling as okay as you’d like, I need you to believe it’s going to get better, okay? Because it will. What about me? The past few days, I’ve been a little high-strung because my baby sister has been unwell and it physically hurts me when I can’t take the pain and stress away from her. Also, this is one of the top reasons I can’t be a mother. It’s so stressful watching someone you care about in severe pain and all you can do is watch. She’s better now, so all is well.
Still on the job search, I was invited to interview at some start-up last week and I intentionally fucked the interview up because the team interviewing me had no idea what the position entailed and they kept asking the most pointless questions. So, I decided I didn’t even want to work with them. I’ve had offers from other places but I couldn’t work with the pay so, the search continues. How hard can it be to get a Community Manager position though, jeez Louise?
In other news, I made a potato dish even though I don’t like potatoes and I’m sharing it with you. If you’re a Nigerian who is familiar with gizdodo, it’s kinda the same vibe.
Let me know if you try it, okay? I haven’t been drinking much, so I haven’t come up with any alcohol mix for you to try. Fingers crossed though because I’ve been sent a few choice liquors to play with.
I feel like I might have jinxed myself by posting a July TBR. These are the books I wanted to read but we’re halfway into the month and I’ve only read one from the stack.
Apparently, I forgot that I already had seven books on my #CurrentlyReading stack. I really need more than twenty-four hours in a day. Ugh! Right now, I’m reading People Live Here by TJ Benson, I’m not a fan of the author’s style but the publisher sent this to me saying that this will be the book that changes my mind about him, so I’ll just reserve my thoughts until I’m done with the book. I’m also reading The Forty Rules Of Love by Elif Shafak. I’m going through her backlist, this is my seventh Shafak and all I can say is that the woman never writes the same book twice, I’m in awe. Still enjoying the epic fantasy that is The Burning God by R. F. Kuang, I just know this book will break my heart but it’s so good that I can’t stop. Recently started Dele Weds Destiny by Tomi Obaro, the latest Bookstagram sensation and I’m listening to Nightcrawling by Leila Mottley.
While I need more hours to read all the books, I also need time to watch all the K-dramas! There’s so much to catch up with and they keep dropping new ones every week. Why do I even have to work, I should be living a full-time life of leisure. Would you keep working if you got notified that you had a trust fund with $10 million in it? What would you do with yourself?
And that’s it from me, I’ll write to you again next time, don’t miss me too much, okay?
If you love my content, please do consider supporting me by giving me a shout-out on social media or in real life or you can even pray for me.
